About Us

Paradwys Lavender Farm, set at the base of Coolangatta Mountain on the South Coast of New South Wales, just two hours south of Sydney, offers the visitor a unique country experience in the heart of the beautiful Shoalhaven region. The name Paradwys means "paradise" and hails from the Welsh family origins of your host Kate Roberts. Kate named her farm after the tiny parish of Paradwys on the Isle of Anglesey, North Wales, because the surrounding green dairy pastures and magnificent views over the Great Dividing Range reminded her of the views from her family's farm across to Snowdonia National Park

Kate Roberts and Erwin Way have been growing lavender since 1997. The Paradwys Lavender Experience has developed from Kate's background as a professional health counsellor with an interest in holistic therapies. The combination of her training in stress management and relaxation skills combines beautifully with her passion for lavender with its healing properties and aromatherapy benefits. Paradwys Lavender Farm offers guests a unique experience in self-care along with a range of natural pampering lavender products for your body and home.

The property is a small enterprise allowing guests the opportunity to feel part of the environment. Meet the wild ducks and skipper the fox terrier, relax by the pond in the (fledgling) apple orchard and say hello to Dusty the pony. The cottage gardens include a plethora of old fashioned roses, under planted with both culinary and medicinal herbs. Whilst a walk through the lavender patch provides an introduction to the range of species used as the basis for many of the natural beauty products hand crafted on the property.

Spa cottage guest accomodation for couples and groups will be availabe from late 2006. Meanwhile visitors can take advantage of the peacefulful setting of the garden studio for group and/or individual relaxation programs. Alternatively enjoy a lavender study day or have fun in one of Kate's Scumbling paint workshops.

Whilst visiting the farm you may like to also try out some wine tasting at the nearby Historic Coolangatta Village Winery, or wind your way back past Seven Mile Beach into Berry to browse amongst the local craft and antique shops. Berry also holds a superb craft fair on the first Sunday of every month where over 250 exhibitors display their wares. All this and the natural beauty of the area with Jervis Bay just half an hour away, makes for a great weekend. Those wanting to partake in more than a day visit can gain a warm welcome at the Backforest Retreat just three kilometres away from the farm.

So if your dreams are tinged with purple or you just want to enjoy a fun day in the country, why not join us at Paradwys ... our little piece of paradise
